ABOUT

I’m Vasile Visovan, a craftsman from northern Transylvania. I was born and raised in Maramureș County, a region famous for its traditional woodworking and old world craftsmanship.

In Romania, I learned early on how to repair, restore, and respect the tools and materials that build our homes. I watched my father fix everything—from reglazing windows and restoring fences to rewiring fuses during frequent power outages. This taught me the value of the “fix it, don’t replace it” mentality.

These skills and traditions traveled with me when I moved to the Pacific Northwest. Now, I call Mercer Island home.

Inspired by the craftsmanship of the Maramureș wooden churches, UNESCO heritage sites, I founded Old World Handyman, a family-owned business.
